Frequently Asked Questions

  • This program and the speaker content is designed specifically for adults with type 1 diabetes. Due to this fact as well as limited capacity, this program is only open to adults with T1D.

  • Through survey and verbal feedback from past participants, we have adjusted the balance between these aspects over the years to an enjoyable blend. There are options throughout the day to focus on the program aspects that are most important to you. Don’t have an interest in a session topic? Enjoy a deep-tissue massage instead! Fearful of heights? Forego the zip line to enjoy some painting or crafting!

  • While many of our scheduled speakers are medical professionals, they are here in a speaker capacity, to address a group of people and not to give personalized guidance. For specific questions, particularly regarding your insulin regimen, it is always recommended to consult your own doctor or medical team who have access to your specific medical records.

  • We collect dietary information in our registration questions so that our kitchen can accommodate your needs. We have a designated gluten-free section of our kitchen to accommodate those with Celiac Disease, and we do our best to provide low as well as moderate to higher carb options. We unfortunately are not able to accommodate Kosher diets, but can provide additional fridge space if you wish to bring Kosher dishes with you. Mini fridges are available in our camper cabins, and a full-sized fridge is available in our Health Center accommodations, but we respectfully request that you leave any foods containing peanuts at home as we are a peanut-free facility. Thanks in advance for your understanding.

  • Absolutely! This is a big part of the program. We have social and fun activities throughout the program, which provide many opportunities to connect with others. Your new best friend might just be waiting to meet you!
